Tonight, Tina and I went to see Chris Hitchens and Douglas Wilson’s documentary called “Collision”. The viewing was followed by a panel discussion with Hemant Mehta (the friendly atheist) and Chad Meister, who rode the coat tails co-authored a book with William Lane Craig.
I’m not ready to post my review of tonight’s event tonight, yet.
I can easily say, though, that watching Mehta’s poise and spontaneous responses shined brighter than Meister’s prepared and repetitive responses. Mehta seemed more goal and future oriented, and Meister appeared to be stuck on past, already debunked debate points.
I hate to say it, but the atheists that stood up did not speak well for atheism. I’ll go into more detail soon. The way I’ve been working and blogging lately has been to work in advance and schedule posts to appear long after I’ve written them. So this review might not come out till next week.
I do want to post this picture though so I can send it to Mehta: So here you go. Mehta’s in the middle and Meister is on the right.

i was so irritated by the idiots who took the mic… i think there was ONE good question the whole time. they didn’t ruin the night but they sure made it end on a sour note.
Hey, codemenkey! You were sitting next to my wife and I. I just looked at your blog and saw pictures of you and your wife, and I wish we would have introduced each other. We didn’t know who we were sitting with. The guys to my right were Christian and behind us were definitely Christian.
Anyway, thought I’d give a shout.
holy crap, i totally missed this reply, and have been inactive on the ‘blogging scene since our trip. were we really sitting next to each other?? that’s crazy! well, good to have kind-of-met-you!
i’ve added le café to my reading list so hopefully i’ll stop by more often. cheers!
