Julie over at Attempts at Rational Behavior posted this clip from the Daily Show. This link will take you to her site. Don’t forget to come back. The show aired what feels like a couple weeks ago. I don’t remember.
I’m sending you to Julie’s site, because if I send you to Comedy Central you have to sit through a commercial. Since I can’t embed Comedy Central videos.
Ol’ Stewart shows how the “anchor” named Gretchen Carlson acts dumb on FOX and Friends, but she’s a graduate of Stanford who studied at Oxford, and she’s an former beauty contestant who can play a mean violin.
But she doesn’t want to appear elitist to the non-academic target market, so she plays it down.
What gets me is, if you watch a network that admits that academia is not its target and that intelligence is a form of a handicap associated with “liberals”, why would an intelligent person watch it?
I know people who love FOX, but their intelligence levels don’t reflect the FOX agenda, yet they watch and love it anyway.
All the network giants appear to me as children’s books in motion with all their whoosh sounds and perty [self sic] graphics.
So go watch the video and decide for yourselves.
Since ancient times, many attempts have been made to account for the relationship between mind and body. This video examines the inherent flaws in the philosophy of substance dualism, along with some of the fallacious reasoning often put forward to support it.
