“Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.”
Answer below the fold.
If you said, “Jesus”, give yourself a butt squeeze. That’s right, almighty Yeshua himself is claimed to have made this command in Luke 6:30.
Is there a new improved covenant that voided this commandment that came straight from the horse’s yapper?
No? Great. Thanks Jesus for being a great leader, and requiring your followers to do what you say to do. I’ll start by asking Christians for health care options for the poor and to stop dragging your collective feet on helping to provide that to them.
I would also request that you sell all those big churches with elaborate decor and state-of-the-art technology and give all the money to charity and to the poor.
I would also ask that you stop squelching science and progress by demonizing evolution and condemning homosexuality.
Could you give me these requests? Or am I misunderstanding that this ONLY pertains to money or physical goods? Because it doesn’t really specify, and I think the economy of knowledge and progress is just as valuable as the flimsy green paper that it appears many pastors, politicians, sports stars, and celebrities wipe their asses with.
Otherwise, be so kind as to take that part out of the bible, as it doesn’t look good if you call yourself a “Christian” but continue to NOT do the simple things Christ himself asked of you.
