Preacher arrested for saying homosexuality is a sin

May 3, 2010

Dale McAlpineFrom the Telegraph UK, a preacher was arrested for saying too loudly that homosexuality is a sin. The article is here.

From the article:

Dale McAlpine was charged with causing “harassment, alarm or distress” after a homosexual police community support officer (PCSO) overheard him reciting a number of “sins” referred to in the Bible, including blasphemy, drunkenness and same sex relationships.

The 42-year-old Baptist, who has preached Christianity in Wokington, Cumbria for years, said he did not mention homosexuality while delivering a sermon from the top of a stepladder, but admitted telling a passing shopper that he believed it went against the word of God.

You’d think that before Christians got all upset about being censored, that they would take two seconds and think about what they are complaining about. How many biblical concepts do Christians elude, evade, skip over to avoid looking crazy — including slavery, murder, rape, incest, etc. Homosexuality is yet another biblical concept that needs to be retired into this long list of biblical characteristics. This issue must be marginalized for Christians to be taken seriously in this culture.

And by the way, book ‘em, Danno!

Tea Partiers to all opposition, “You’re a dumbass” … gives the gift of the bird

May 3, 2010

Yet again, where was the Tea Party when Bush was racking up the deficit?

By the way, this is a great Tea Party meltdown, right cheer … classiness runs in their family.

Friday Night, I saw the Generationals and Apples in Stereo

May 3, 2010

Friday night, I saw a band my college roommate, Seth Kauffman, is currently playing in called, “The Generationals.” They weren’t bad. I wouldn’t necessarily scream about going to see them play. But they were pretty good. I was able to see Seth, whom I roomed with for two years in college. We went to the same high school together, and we actually visited Liberty University together as high school seniors. Could you imagine me … at Liberty University?

Here’s a taste of their music, but Seth is not in this video.

Seth’s band is called “Floating Action.” Their MySpace page is here.

I also saw Apples in Stereo. I wasn’t all that thrilled to see them, but we stayed for a handful of songs. Here’s one of their “hits.”

Sorry, this isn’t a review of the bands. I just thought I would expose you to something I exposed myself to over the weekend.

My dogs are still barkin’ from the weekend shooting photos and video. I got lots of good shots, and I’m marginally excited about cutting this video together.

Now go culture yourself with some of this music and let me know what you think.
