I love this series of photographs, and I wish it was a better project with higher quality photos. But I will take what I can get. Here are some of the latest People of Walmart photos:
On Saturday night, Tina and I watched the PBS broadcast of George Carlin receiving the Mark Twain Prize in 2008. Carlin of course wasn’t in attendance. Not in body or spirit.
In case you haven’t received the memo, Carlin’s dead.
But clips of his act were there, and man, were they great.
It was an amazing tribute, and a reminder just how genius Carlin was. I don’t want to be accused of throwing around Genius on anyone. But to be clear, Genius is someone like Carlin. It is NOT someone like David in these on-going comments.
Carlin was true great. His delivery, his mind, his presence … these things made him a crusader for thought expansion.
I found myself hoping for just an ounce of the ability he had. If I could speak a teensy bit as well as he could, I’d be thrilled.
I downloaded a few samples of his books trying to see which one I wanted to buy first. Anyone have a favorite Carlin book they’d like to recommend?
I leave you with a George Carlin bit about the 10 commandments. Clearly this man should have been on the Bible’s writing team. Shouldn’t the creator of the universe have the foresight to either birth Carlin earlier in the equation or wait until the 20th century before writing a book as important as it is purported to be?

This is a special episode of KIDS REACT – It is important to take pause when historical events occur and to reflect on how the next generation views the actions of our ever changing world. Though this is a more serious subject than our usual episodes, it is valuable to learn from the insights of more innocent eyes than our own. Next week we will return to our usual programming. Thank you.
