Look, while the embassy was under the siege it sent out a statement that was not approved by the White House to try and calm the throng of protesters and keep the peace. The White House immediately disavowed the embassy’s statement and shortly after that a tragedy ensued. This was what was being pointed out to Romney, that he was wrong to claim the President apologized, that the embassy made a futile attempt to keep protesters from rioting without consulting Washington. But Romney doubled down on a lie and thus you get shit like this rant. I have no reason to doubt your friend’s patriotism, service record, or his love for the country. What I call into question is his judgement and ability to source a statement when anyone with two brain cells can clearly see that the Obama apology tour crap is a bold-faced lie!
