What makes you think PBS won’t survive without govt funding? I’m sure all those telethons you see almost every weekend will keep things going. Just like everything else these days, they may have to re organize.
You’re right. I failed to go into more detail about whether or not PBS could re-structure and possibly “survive.”
You seem to think that those frequent telethons are lucrative. That’s weird and ignorant. Good job.
It’s no mystery, though, that many on the right want PBS “killed” and they intend to do it via cutting funds.
Frothy said just last week:
“I’ve voted to kill Big Bird in the past. I have a record there that I have to disclose. That doesn’t mean I don’t like Big Bird. You can kill things and still like them, maybe to eat them, I don’t know. That’s probably that. Can we — can we go back on that one?”
Why do I think it would kill PBS? Because that’s the intent, Nick.
