And there are only 2 places to spend it, either in the presence of God almighty or forever separated from him. A lot of people don’t believe this. But what if I’m right? Wouldn’t you want to be with God?

What if you are right? Then I will spend eternity apart from god. If that means hell, then hell it is. The god of the bible, of creation, is not something or someone to be worshiped, loved, admired, or touted as great.

Would I want to be with god? No. I wouldn’t want to be with God. If Jesus were to walk in my room right now, let me finger his wounds, and tell me how his death showed me how to live eternally with him, I would not stop and agree that He is someone to be worshiped. God/Jesus is not a character I want to associate myself with. God is a dismal failure, and those who follow him are free to do so. But I don’t believe the character of God or Jesus is one to be admired.

Why do I frustrate you so?

Because you haven’t added anything to the conversation. You have disrespected the process of answering your easy questions first through the available channels. You repeat the same conversation that I was taught to have with people like me. It’s old.

My Christian education taught me that it was disrespectful to ask others what you can find out on your own.

Further, one HUGE criticism of the Christian church and its adherents is that Christians are willfully ignorant. The books and information are available to create great doubt in all things faithful, and yet Christians avoid those resources? Why? Because open-minded, intellectualism — learning for self — is detrimental to the Christian message.

Seriously? When does that verse come up except to establish some sort of even playing ground reminding you — and me — that no one is better than anyone. It’s a trump card that people like you pull out incessantly. In your god’s name, it’s nauseating.

My biblical knowledge differs from yours. It’s superior to yours. If you had a better understanding of the bible, you’d understand that the bible’s interpretation of hell and the devil are maladjusted inclusions that when studied well, reveal that they are extra biblical ideas.

Christians who spend time translating from the Hebrew and Greek come to this conclusion often. It’s the remedial learners — like yourself — who hold on and tell people they have “two options” for eternity.

But — again — if eternity has two choices, I choose the option far from God.

I have more biblical background than I imagine you ever will.

I’ve spent months on John alone. Years on the Psalms and Genesis. I’ve done more time on Romans than most prisoners spend in prison.

I’ve studied the bible in depth to the point of wanting to go to seminary, and I had what you described above as the heart that genuinely loved and admired it.

Why is it you want me to repeat this?

You’re being a jerk, Nick. I feel you and I have covered this, and if you took the time to read my about page, you’d have a full understanding of just how far I went as a Christian.

I implore you to actually study your bible from an outside perspective. From one that doesn’t consider Romans 3:23 bragging rights for the inferiority of humanity.
