Many in uproar over Djesus Uncrossed. Yeshua? Not one of them.

After Saturday Night Live’s hilarious Djesus Uncrossed sketch (link) over the weekend, you probably knew some believer type folks would get their sense of humor pantaloons in a wad.

And they did.

Drew Zahn at WND says,

“I just have to believe that if God gifted these actors and writers with such a gift for humor and wit,” Zahn concluded, “that He intended it for nobler purposes than mocking His Son.”

Although, in their defense, I have to believe that WND is a Poe site dedicated to making believers look absurd and create more ammunition for people to mock them. If I were a believer, I would call for them to fold daily.

Over at Worthy Christian Forums, Tinky writes:

These COWARDS would NEVER depict Mohammed in that manner.

Walla299 writes:

There will be mockers until Judgement Day — but I don’t have to allow them into my home via the TV.

And Butero says,

Some of the skits are funny, but many of them are disgusting and blasphemous.  That’s the world for you.  They think nothing of attacking our Lord.  Ayin Jade is right.  They need prayer,

The following comments were also posted on “SNL’s” website:

–”Seriously SNL? I am one of your biggest fans, but you really crossed the line with this. I am thoroughly disgusted…”

–”Interesting how SNL continues to mock Christ. As a Christian, I was highly offended. No doubt you would not dare to attack other faiths; Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, You can do better.”

–”This is just wrong. Once again, Christians are slammed. I find it ighly unfunny making fun of something that so many hold dear…”

And yet the thunderous anger emitting from the heavens on this topic are astoundingly quiet.

Wait, I think I hear something.

Shhhh.

Nah, that’s just Chicago Transit Authority working on the tracks outside our house.

Yep, quiet up there in the heavens.

Like Tina said … “Maybe God thought it was funny, which is why he’s not getting behind those who are upset.”

After all, no news is good news.

Funny thing is, I think it would be a really interesting movie to watch. I’d pay money to see that.

      My favorite lines are:

To Sam Jackson: “When you get to heaven, say hi to my dad.” Pow.

And, “Critics are calling it a less violent Passion of the Christ.”

In some ways, it’s really not all that blasphemous. I mean, Jesus came to bring the sword.

  2. Aaron says:

“Jesus…I’m not through with him by damn sight. I’m gonna get old testament on his ass.”

The Sam Jackson scene was my favorite.

If I could choose the actor to play Jesus, it would no doubt have to be Gary Oldman. This film could be awesome. Seriously.
