Feel the love! Atlanta 30,000-member Megachurch Pastor Creflo Dollar punched, spanked, beat with a shoe and choked his daughter

June 10, 2012

Did you hear about the Atlanta Megachurch pastor who punched and choked his daughter over something as evil as wanting to go to a party?

Well, now you have.

I’m posting the entire article on this one. The entire Chicago Tribune Article here.

Atlanta megachurch leader Creflo Dollarchoked and punched his 15-year-old daughter, then spanked her with a shoe, during an argument over whether she could go to a party, according to a police report.

Dollar told deputies he tried to restrain his daughter when she became disrespectful. When she began hitting back, the report said, he wrestled her to the floor and spanked her.

Dollar, 50,  is one of the most prominent African American preachers in Atlanta, a well-known exponent of the prosperity gospel, which teaches followers that God will bless the faithful with material rewards.

His church, World Changers Church International, has nearly 30,000 members. The church has 10 satellite churches in half a dozen states.

“As a father I love my children and I always have their best interest at heart at all times, and I would never use my hand to ever cause bodily harm to my children,” Dollar said in a statement. “The facts in this case will be handled privately to further protect my children. My family thanks you for your prayers and continued support.”

Dollar’s wife, Taffi, said she saw her daughter lying on the floor, but did not see a fight.

The church leader faces misdemeanor charges of simple battery and cruelty to children. He has been released from jail and his lawyer told the Associated Press he was expected to preach Sunday.

At 1 a.m. Friday, Dollar’s 15-year-old daughter called 911. She told a Fayette County sheriff’s deputy that she and her father argued about whether she could go to a party the following night. She left the room with her 19-year-old sister.

When Dollar followed her and asked her why she was crying, she responded, “I do not want to talk right now,” according to the report.

“He charged her, and put his hands around her throat and began to choke her,” the report reads. “…He then slammed her to the ground and began to punch her and took his shoe off and started whooping her with it.”

Deputies noted a scratch on the right side of her neck.

Dollar said his daughter could not attend the party because of bad grades. Then he said she became very disrespectful when he asked her why she was upset, according to the report. He tried to restrain her. They wrestled. He spanked her. Then, Dollar told deputies, she began to calm down. He sent her to her room.

The 19-year-old daughter initially gave two statements, a verbal one that corroborated her sister’s story, and a written one that corroborated her father’s story.

When asked about the discrepancy by deputies, she said her parents were with her when she composed the written statement. When separated from her family, she wrote a second statement that matched her verbal statement, deputies said.

Thanks, Tina, for the mind-boggling crazy story that pissed me off.

Somebody needs to show me some good PR for belief. Seriously? This is depressing.

The above video is one that’s circulating fast. And it should. It’s a four-year old from Indiana telling a congregation that there will be no homos in heaven.

Joe My God wrote:

Thanks to the web sleuthing of a JMG reader, last night we learned Indiana’s Apostolic Truth Tabernacle is where that four year-old child was filmed singing Ain’t No Homos Gonna Make It To Heaven. Shortly after I posted that repulsive clip, I was contacted by several media outlets, including CNN, who now know its source. Contact details for Pastor Jeff Sangl are at the first link and I suspect he is about to have a very interesting week.

Clearly, this is the best way to teach a child.

Clearly, this is a logical conclusion based on Biblical principles.

Clearly, the supposed moral bankruptcy of this nation is resting on the shoulders of those who perpetuate that their morality is superior whilst teaching children this bullshit.

If this is your love, I don’t want it.

To add insult to injury, you should read about the Kansas pastor who called on the government to execute homosexuals. Why? Because that’s what the bible says to do to them.

Pastor Curtis Knapp says:

“If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. They should be put to death. ‘Oh, so you’re saying we should go out and start killing them, no? I’m saying the government should. They won’t, but they should. You say, ‘Oh, I can’t believe you, you’re horrible. You’re a backwards neanderthal of a person.’ Is that what you’re calling scripture? Is God a neanderthal, backwards in his morality?

“Is it His word or not? If it’s His word, he commanded it. It’s His idea, not mine. And I’m not ashamed of it. He said put them to death. Shall the church drag them in? No, I’m not saying that. The church has not been given the power of the sort; the government has. But the government ought to [kill them]. You got a better idea? A better idea than God?” – Pastor Curtis Knapp, of New Hope Baptist Church in Seneca, Kansas.

If you’re a believer, what are you doing to help solve this? What are you doing to distance yourself from such awful displays of idiocy?

If you’re appalled, please explain yourself. I would love to know what you’re thinking.

See you next Tuesday, Pastor DL Foster

April 30, 2012

Text from “ex-gay” Pastor DL Foster reads, “The supernatural, radical, wonder working blood of Jesus is cleansing someone right now from #masturbation addiction in Jesus name #freedom.”

Just so you know, if you have a natural curiosity to touch yourself, this is evil and it needs twitter to intervene with the divine to stop it.

Go figure.

Pastor Tom Vineyard says 50% of murders in large cities are committted by homosexuals

November 18, 2011

This video of Pastor Tom Vineyard of Windsor Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma is providing even more disdain toward the absent-minded, dim-bulbed, archaic, brain-dead, ugliness that oozes out of “literal” biblical teaching.

If this is treating your neighbor as yourself by ignorantly lying about falsified stats, why would good folks associate themselves with that kind of mindset?

Well [spit, ding] your argument is water tight! I *will* come back to church …

November 1, 2011

In a letter from Pastor Burke “Slim” Shade-y of Cornerstone Reformed Church in Carbondale, IL, the pastor told a congregation member that he’s not only excommunicated but not considered a Christian anymore.

The best part, he writes, “we are handing you over to Satan and his kingdom of darkness, in hopes that you will come to your senses, repent, and return.”

Well, put it that way, and I’ll enjoy me some Satanic darkness, thank you very much.

Megachurch Pastor Comes Out Of Closet

November 2, 2010

The church needs more voices like this one. Only problem with this story is, I can’t figure out where Rockdale County is. I’m guessing it’s Georgia.

The pastor of a Rockdale County megachurch has publicly announced he is gay.
Jim Swilley, bishop of Conyers’ Church in the Now, said he hopes his coming out will change attitudes toward homosexuality.
“I know a lot of straight people think it is a choice. It is not,” Swilley told Channel 2′s Diana Davis.
Swilley, 52, founded the church 25 years ago. He seemed the stereotypical picture of a pastor, with four kids and a wife who doubled as his associate pastor. But Swilley said he’s known he was gay since he was little boy. He said his wife, Debye, also knew his secret from the start.
“I think some women marry gay men because they really think they can change them,” Swilley said.
The now-divorced couple kept their secret for 21 years, but earlier this year, Swilley said Debye told him it was time to stop living a lie.
She said he should practice what he preaches and follow the church’s motto, “Real people experiencing a real God in the real world.”
So, Swilley came out to his kids and his congregation. He said he knew he might risk everything, but the recent rash of gay teen suicides pushed him over the edge.
“As a father, thinking about your 16, 17 year old killing themselves. I thought somebody needed to say something,” Swilley said through tears.
He says he’s received support from many in his congregation, but at least one conservative Christian blog has called him sick, twisted, unclean and an instrument of the devil.
“I know all the hateful stuff that’s being written about me online, whatever,” Swilley said. “To think about saving a teenager yeah, I’ll risk my reputation for that.”
