It was a funny story, but the other guy laughing the whole time made the horrible parts seem all the more surreal. Seems to leave it off as “it’s just those other” religions/sects that do these laughably awful things.
You’re right, the laughing was annoying.
The other guy, Tavis Smiley, is great though. As far as public broadcasting goes, he’s a god. This is sometimes difficult to admit, because sometimes it seems to be stigmatized or old man to admit this, but I personally can’t stand network news, so around this house, news comes from PBS and NPR.
