Barbara Bradley Hagerty did this piece titled “Is The Bible More Violent Than The Quran?” on NPR back in March. I thought I would post it. I ran across something recently and it made me think of it.
Hagerty practices softer journalism than the sweet puppy Hound that I met the yesterday whose skin and fur were so squishy sweet, you could almost eat it.
But the topic is definitely one of interest.
I’ve read large parts of the Koran, and I’ve read the whole of the bible. Both feature levels of violence that make NC-17 horror films appear like a Disney flick.
How a loving and benevolent god could order the death of children and for the raping of women … I have no clue. And I have no idea how loving and kind people can forgive their perception of god for it …
