Yawn. Jesus and Lucifer shared a name

Back in the heyday of my faith, I remember coming across references to Satan as Morning Star and Jesus as Morning Star.

It was a sort of ah-ha moment of, “Clearly there’s something wrong with the bible.” When I asked other believers about it, I remember the response was, “No, no, you’re reading that out of context.

It was more of a sweep my inquiry under the rug thing. Clearly my question had validity.

Later when I was studying biblical translations, the topic came up again and I was able to see how biblical translations are confused and confusing. When you lay it out all, many believers will show you the bible’s cohesion. They can show you, I can still show you, how Genesis makes sense in the context of Jesus and revelation, even.

So when I read this blog post about Jesus and Lucifer sharing a name, I yawned a little. But then I thought, well, maybe you’d like to read it.

Tah-dah, here’s your chance to read about it.

Forget *how* to take photos at parties. How about “how to find friends with sweet pads to host parties to photograph”?

halloween_2013-1I’m lucky to have one set of friends with a sweet-looking home who invite Tina and I to parties.

I love photographing them, because the people and the backdrop are so beautiful.

Joanna Goddard posted a blog recently called, “How to take photos at parties“.

The only problem is the examples that Joanna showed are all set in locations that most everyone would LOVE to visit let alone live in.

Regardless, go check out her advice. It’s pretty solid.

thanks, Tina!

social media-fying my life

I realize it’s quiet around here today. I have a couple/few things on my plate.

One: I’m producing a short film at the gratis level. I will write more about this later, but producing a short film is difficult with a budget. It’s ten hundred times more difficult without one.

Two: I’m working on a few projects right now, mainly editing photos and video.

Three: I’m social media-fying my life. I’ve been more active at 500px.com. I’ve been more active on my pro blog, tumblr, facebook and twitter

Please feel free to follow any one of them.

This morning, I was figuring out my flickr account, which I opened in 2005 and abandoned like a red-headed step child. The images on there were all from 2005, a year when my photography was blossoming into the trends and look that I still use today.

I hid almost all the images from that period, but I’m going to post some of them below. Some of them make me laugh. Some of them make me happy. Some of them worry me that I ever thought they were any good.

In the meantime, go check out that link.
