brunch with the greatest people we never get to see

On Sunday, Tina and I scheduled a brunch with friends whom we haven’t seen in way too long. We haven’t hung out too much, because, well, life happens.

Over a year and a half ago, we met this group of people through a mutual friend and we quickly became very close. Since then one couple moved to New Orleans for a quarter of 2013. One woman moved to San Francisco permanently, and the other couple dove head first into their interior design business.

It was one of those meetings where the words, “We need to hangout more often” was repeated umpteen times.

It was a lovely brunch, and I wish it didn’t have to end.

Our restaurant choice was La Sirena Clandestina (954 W Fulton Market), literally around the corner from our new studio.

The food was excellent. I had Crab Benedict (pictured twice). Tina ordered the French Toast, which looks like a lot of disinteresting brown, but don’t let the color fool you. The taste was divine.

And my neighbor to my right ordered the kale salad. I think I had a bite of everyone’s dish, and nothing tasted anything less than mmm, hmm.

We also had bloody marys with MGD chasers for cocktails.

I’m guessing this place will be our go-to restaurant/bar for entertaining clients who come to the studio.

Enjoy the photos.
