Every year I’ve lived in Chicago and I’m available to do so, I shoot the gay pride parade.
This year Bill and I went out together with a portable Chimera beauty dish, my Canon 5D Mark 3, a 50mm 1.4 attached with a polarizer. I don’t have a ND filter for it right now. We shot everything at f2 and it was SOOOO much fun. We got great stuff with beautiful people.
Should we have run into any protestors, I would have loved to have photographed them with the Chimera. It would have been the best light they’ve ever been seen in. 🙂
I remember the first year I shot it, I was still a little more country than I realized, and I was more or less horrified and intrigued. I produced some videos with some footage, and when I showed my family, I’m pretty sure their shock was all I needed to think, “My old values need to go.”
What struck me was the sheer number of supporters in the form of families with young kids. Now I don’t even question anything about it.
Equality is amazing, but the pride parade is amazing-er.
Pride parades are amazing! I went with my mom, her partner, and my younger sisters to the one in Columbus. It was a ton of fun, and I took plenty of photos. I hope Ohio can become a same-sex marriage state soon.
Thanks for the compliment!
Glad you’re out in support and with loving people! Marriage deserves equality. And naysayers deserve dissent. It’s superfluous, but they certainly aren’t going to be very many disagreers soon.
Anyone who has ever been to a pride parade knows just how amazing, family-friendly and fun they are.
We heteros are doing just fine at destroying marriage as it is. LOL.
I’m going to have to agree with everything except the “we heteros” part if you’re including me in that, because I’m bi.
Haha! You are better than I. I always need to remind myself to be more welcoming.
My culture may still be in the dark, but the times are changing. Love has no color, gender or race it is truly about who and what’s makes is happy. I truly respect all the cities and town who participated in Pride .
This is such a great disappointment. This will destroy marriage…
Absolutely fabulous !
Marriage deserves equality.
These photos are wonderful..Equal rights for all I chant!!!!
Equal rights for all!

Lovely pictures! Really enjoyed it.
Great picture
It was held in India too. Nothing great came out of it though. But the protest is still on. I believe everyone has their own right to marry who ever they wont. Jenny I am waiting for u 😛
I think it’s amazing how your views changed. That little anecdote you included isn’t something you hear everyday. A pleasant surprise to read. 🙂
The photos are incredible. Great work! I love pride.
Thanks for checking them out and thanks for the comment and compliment! So kind.
Stunning photographs! So much colour and joie de vivre. 🙂 x
Fantastic experience! I missed Dublin Pride 2014, but last year I was so happy to mingle with all the folks after the parade. Thank you for sharing these colorful photographs!
“Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” (Prov.16:17-19.) Pride in a reprobate mind and being turned over to dishonor your bodies between each other, serving yourselves more than the creator: because of that God gave you up to vile affections, men using men, women using women; without natural affections, having no understanding.
(Rom.1:21-31.)
Reprobate’s finger points more than one direction.
Thanks for quoting a dusty old book.
This is sad.
This is beautiful! 🙂

Violating ones Conscience is neither Wise Nor Prudent, nor Historical Evidence that such a Lifestyle is Good, like running Stop Signs, spelled in many Different ways Galatians 5:19-21King James Version (KJV)

Stranger still the Rainbow Colors WHY What is Next Fiire
I wish what you wrote and/or copied and pasted meant any sense in 2014.
It just doesn’t.
Good luck.
You are proud of such abominable things? Keep in mind, the West is on a sure road to destruction. If humanity doesn’t learn from history, surely needs to repeat the lessons of the past.
Very proud.
There’s no path to destruction except for the imagined one that lives only in your mind.
Like your Photography, and the Sharp Images, why and how too! Shoot Victims of Satanic Deception before their Demise, if Unrepentant from the Pleasures of Sin.

Sorry Violations of Conscience is to give into Temptations = Sin = and Hell Eternal Torment!
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Thanks, Lisa!
I’m glad to have represented it well to all of you lovely people!
The “Just Married” photo is the best one IMHO. There’s nothing nicer than two people in love giving each other a little kiss like that. ☺️
The “Just Married” kiss was one I orchestrated.
I saw the signs, but asked them if they, in fact, were just married — assuming other people in their group might be wearing similar signs.
They confirmed yes, and I asked them for a kiss.
Ta-dah!
It’s a good one. Well done! 🙂
That’s a very horrible thing!
Great post; one love for all! I’m new here, check out my blog guys. Daisy xxx

What’s so funny with perverting the natural beauty of marriage. Dis is utterly against nature. Let’s think twice because we ll be held accountable for our actions.

I loved this years pride, I had a blaaast!
I actually went to my first PRIDE Festival a few weeks back (“Gay Pride” on my blog if you guys are curious..) and I had an amazing time. I mean, the amount of acceptance and support is unreal. Its amazing how far we’ve come and how close we’re getting to equality. (:
Love it! Thanks for sharing! I love going to the Sydney Festival 🙂 Great to see the support and love 🙂
This is beautiful! It’s wonderful to see the progress our community is making. 🙂
Awesome shots! I loved it.

If this is wrong, I don’t want what’s right. 🙂
ok as u like man
In my country, the village elders would sentence everyone one of you to hard labor or baking many loaves of bread!
Sounds like a rough sentence. So bread making is torture where you come come from?
In other countries, people are killed for this.
Glad we revel in freedom and happiness and where bread-making isn’t a punishment.
LOVE ALL GAYS GOD BLESS THEM VIP
I took photo’s of the Amsterdam Gay Pride once. Fun to do. I love this picture!
