I found this grab at TYWKIWDBI. It reads, “The spread of Corona virus is based on two factors. 1. How dense the population is. 2. How dense the population is. A response reads: You wrote the same thing twice. What’s the other one? To which he or she writes: you’re #2.
Stan also posted two British assessments of Donald Trump. You can read them for yourself here. But here are some standout lines:
And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing – not once, ever. I don’t say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility – for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman. But with Trump, it’s a fact. He doesn’t even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty…
The man is a jaw-dropping catastrophe. He’s too stupid to know he’s stupid. He listens to no one, understands nothing, tells transparent lies, and believes them himself. He’s the Dunning-Kruger effect on legs. He’s a blundering, racist, misogynistic bully.
Hear me well: Donald Trump is a worldwide laughing-stock. He is America’s humiliation. He has destroyed your reputation, your moral leadership and your credibility. He squanders your allies’ goodwill. His capriciousness makes him difficult and dangerous to deal with.
That Dunning-Kruger line is a spot on. His lack of self awareness is mind boggling. He either knows he’s the laughing stock and doesn’t care. Or he is sitting at the table looking for the fool, and can’t seem to find him.
That he’s admired with cult-like adoration is a challenge to explain, because it’s almost as if the language one uses to adore him have all found new definitions that only 40% of the population seem to have the dictionary for.
One of the commenters on that blog post trolled a little response calling Donald Trump a Pit bull, criticized Obama sans solicitation, and then assured everyone that Trump has a sense of humor.
Since it’s a troll on Stan’s blog, I’ll leave it alone. But if I did response to that shit head, I’d write:
While I know you used “pit bull” as a stereotypical monster dog that can fight to the death or kill someone, I saw it as a misnomer. I beg to differ based on real world experience as a pit bull parent. They are generally the sweetest, most sensitive dogs I’ve ever trained. And I’ve worked with a good handful.
They are Smart. Perceptive. Empathetic. They are animals who care deeply about their humans, and they care even more about children. Any Pit that is a monster or a fighter is the direct result of poor training or the intent to train to fight.
None of the positive pit bull qualities are found in Mr. Trump. It would appear, then, that — should your assessment be true — he was trained to be that way. According to his niece, that appears to be an accurate assessment.
As for your assessment re: sense of humor, if you’re referring to times when he makes his base laugh at his rallies, I would look deep into what your sense of humor thinks is “funny.” I have laughed heartily at him. But never as a result of a “joke” that he made.
