Mark Levin’s American Marxism

I saw that Mark Levin’s new book, “American Marxism” is topping the NYTimes best seller list, and I surfed over to Amazon to read the available pages. Read for yourselves here.

Wow. What a tirade against something he unclearly defines and then blames that unclarity as everything that is wrong with America.

Spoiler alert: Let me sum up what’s available: fear monger fear monger fear monger fear monger fear monger fear monger [deep inhale] fear monger fear monger fear monger fear monger fear monger fear monger fear monger fear monger fear monger. Did I mention fear mongering?

Mark Levin, like many writers in the Republican camp, are outrage profiteers. They even wear special hats; they are white, cover the entire face except the eyes and come to a point at the top.

I just wrote about the fear mongering of marxism here. In sum, what happens to all these conservatives when they get to heaven and what they view as Marxism is how they are going to have to live … for eternity!

Mark Levin’s misinformed approach to all things conservative is mindblowing. On January 4, 2021, he said, “Now, I want to talk to the Republicans, particularly in the United States Senate but also in the House. Any Republican who doesn’t stand up to this on January 6th — win, lose or draw. It’s the principal, it’s the issue. The American people need to understand you’re serious about defending the Constitution — you are shredding the Constitution along with all those Democrats and the Democrat Party who put the nation in this position.”

Covid-19, where we’re at and where we’re going

There are a couple items I wanted to share on Covid-19. Positive test numbers have almost tripled in the past few weeks. The Delta variant is surging. When I was in France, I read a prediction that this would happen as we’re follow a curve right behind England.

A Hopitalist Physician named Britney Cobia MD in Alabama , the state ranking dead-last in vaccinations among adults, wrote this on her Facebook page:

“I’ve made a LOT of progress encouraging people to get vaccinated lately!!! Do you want to know how? I’m admitting young healthy people to the hospital with very serious COVID infections. One of the last things they do before they’re intubated is beg me for the vaccine. I hold their hand and tell them that I’m sorry, but it’s too late. A few days later when I call time of death, I hug their family members and I tell them the best way to honor their loved one is to go get vaccinated and encourage everyone they know to do the same. They cry. And they tell me they didn’t know. They thought it was a hoax. They thought it was political. They thought because they had a certain blood type or a certain skin color they wouldn’t get as sick. They thought it was ‘just the flu’. But they were wrong. And they wish they could go back. But they can’t. So they thank me and they go get the vaccine. And I go back to my office, write their death note, and say a small prayer that this loss will save more lives.As always, I am an open book. Please bring me your questions and I will tell you everything I know and everything I don’t. It’s not too late, but some day it might be.Thank you Dr. David B Wilhelm for sharing your medical knowledge with all of us.“

Again, that young person dying keeps bubbling up. It was always the case, but that one talking point really made its rounds with a lot of people in my close circle.

This article from Slate is an interesting read about how to navigate the waters of being vaccinated in a world of spreading disease. It details that it might be positive to get the virus while vaccinated. That the point of vaccinations wasn’t to eradicate the virus, but to make it less annoying. The hope is that you experience a less severe form of the disease, and by less severe, that might mean you’re sick in bed for up to a week with fever, chills, loss of taste and smell, but that the process will give a person a booster against the disease. Read the whole thing for yourselves.

Tina and I are still masking up in grocery stores and stores in general. It takes little effort and it’s a hinderance for spreading disease, not just Covid, and it’s possibly a safety precaution. Plus, we’re not the only ones doing it, so it’s a way to share solidarity with those who might feel a little uncomfortable when they are now the minority.

Plus, like the flu, and other diseases, I ain’t got time for being sick. I work for myself. And any selfish measure I can take to avoid downtime, I’m going to take it.
