Christians in the US may become a minority group by 2070 if recent trends continue, according to data released by the Pew Research Center.
To predict how the US religious landscape will change over the next 50 years, the center posed several questions: “What if Christians keep leaving religion at the same rate observed in recent years? What if the pace of religious switching continues to accelerate? What if switching were to stop, but other demographic trends – such as migration, births and deaths – were to continue at current rates?”
The center modeled four hypothetical scenarios, based on trends including no switching, steady switching, rising disaffiliation with limits and rising disaffiliation without limits.

It’s not a surprise that Christianity’s hold is declining. If I made it to 2022 as a Christian, this year I’d abandon it for sure. What a mess.
I’m surprised the majority decline didn’t happen in 1870. Let alone 1970. For this prediction to still take another 48 years seems a bit much.
It’s not that difficult to see through the flimsy arguments for the cause. And it’s easier to use Christ as a role model without the flaccid promises of faith.
But good for 2070.

What isn’t funny about this clip of man claiming that high schools have integrated litter boxes for kids dressed as cats is that it’s gained this much ground with a repeated talking point.
There are too many of these to keep up with these days. Egregious and frequent ate-term abortions being another one that I’ve heard from the horses’ mouths.
We do not live in a world with accurate transmissions of truth.

The power of alternate currencies
This woman’s explanation for why some people are latched unwaveringly to the Trump train is a clear and concise way of saying what I say often.
I’m a creative person, and if it weren’t for the need to pay bills, I would do my art for free. I’m lucky to make my living as a commercial artist. But what I need to survive is creation, not necessarily a paycheck.
The capital/currency of appreciation and admiration goes a LONG way. Much farther than a number on my bank statement.
The metaphor extends to others as well. The downtrodden are so empty for validation, that Trump fulfills that spot in a way that creates an undying, blind allegiance to a man who gives two shits about his constituents and fans.
He said it himself. He loves the poorly educated. He’s dominated that market with appeals to their base side. He gives wings to their inner desire to live free of restraint. To dig into their racisms and bigotries and have someone else that gives them permission to vocalize it.
Permissions to live with a free wagging tongue is essentially the same as a particular kind of personality winning the lottery.
You see it when you talk to people who LOVE Trump. Trump is a breath of their fresh air. He gives wings to snakes.
