Guinness World Record: World’s Hairiest Girl

Meet 11-year old Supatra Sasuphan, recently named the world’s hairiest girl:

.

Supatra is thrilled about her Guinness World Record. I can’t help but wonder how long she will remain happy about it.

From The Telegraph UK:

Supatra Sasuphan has told of her delight at being named the ‘World’s Hairiest Girl.’ She has been teased her entire life by other children calling her “monkey face” and “wolf girl”, but now the 11-year-old has been given a Guinness World Record and she says it has helped her become extremely popular at school. “I’m very happy to be in the Guinness World Records! A lot of people have to do a lot to get in,” she said. “All I did was answer a few questions and then they gave it to me.”

Seriously, Intelligent Design advocates, please explain hypertrichosis in an “Intelligent” way. Pretty please.

  1. If the human body is the epitome of the intelligence of a designer, the designer flunked design 101, bad!
For starters, our genetic code is ridiculously vulnerable to all sorts of defects ranging from errors due to blueprint replication and/or readings. My favorite one is, why did he put an “amusement park” so close to the “sewer”? Who would do that? And don’t get me started on the fact that the knee is the worst-designed joint in the ENTIRE body. It is the highest weight-bearing joint yet it the the weakest of them all! (the answer is of course, that the knee was never meant to hold the weight of an upright body, but don’t tell that to cdesign proponentists!)

These are just some examples off the top of my head. You can see some really bad design in other species, like rabbits (google rabbit digestion and enjoy!)

But yeah, the religious types will just tell you some variant of: Simple, it’s all god’s plan. You are just not capable of understanding it. It makes you an arrogant being if you believe you can decipher the will of the almighty!
